We welcome students and the campus community into worship, music making, community service and social justice, and practices that foster wellbeing and belonging.

Each Sunday of the academic year, there is a Service of Holy Communion in the Episcopal tradition at the Trinity College Chapel. The service occurs at 4:00 p.m. on most Sundays. You can find a detailed schedule below.

On a typical Sunday, The Chapel Singers offer choral elements of the service, and student leaders serve as acolytes and greeters. Often throughout the semester, guest preachers are invited to campus to give the sermon. They include alumni who have pursued divinity school or other priests from Connecticut and beyond. The 4:00 pm service is followed by Community Supper, a time for gathering to enjoy a meal from one of Hartford’s restaurants.

Evensong periodically throughout the academic year. Evensong is a centuries-old service of sung prayer that marks the end of the day and the arrival of the evening through beautiful music, silence, candlelight, and incense. The Chapel Singers offer music from the English choral tradition, perfectly suited to the setting of the Chapel. A member of the Trinity community offers a brief spoken reflection. All are invited for restful contemplation at the close of the day.

Other opportunities to connect with Protestant Christian life on campus in its various expressions are the weekly meetings of student organizations under our umbrella. These include Chapel Council, the Trinity College Gospel Choir, and FIST (Faith Inspired Students at Trinity). These organizations are student-led with support from advisers in the Office of Spiritual & Religious Life. Learn more about them here.

Pluralism & Episcopal Heritage

The Episcopal heritage of Trinity College remains evident in our name, our Chapel and its leadership. And our high value of pluralism has roots in that same history and heritage.
